Powertrain Component
FlexShaft

Description:

The flexible shaft component calculates the torque generated by a flexible shaft given the velocity of the shaft at each end. The speed difference is integrated using PosDiff to calculate the difference in the angular position between the two ends of the shaft.

The speed difference is calculated as:

SpeedDiff = Vel3-Vel1

The output torques are calculated as:

Torque1=K*PosDiff+D*SpeedDiff
Torque3=-Torque1

The positive direction of velocity and torque is arbitrary.

Inputs: SimRealVar Vel1 - Angular Velocity (rad/s)
SimRealVar Vel3 - Angular Velocity (rad/s)
